CCNA Routing and Switching is one of the most prestigious certifications in IT industry is the Cisco Certification. They are known to be valuable and costly. There are some changes in CCIE Written exam topics and some major changes in their CCNA Routing and Switching exams made by CISCO. Some topics like the VRRP, GLBP Troubleshoot Frame Relay and layer 1 issues, etc have been removed from CCNA R&S v3.0. The BGP, Cloud, or QoS technologies are not discussed in depth here, however the coverage will be more than enough for an entry-level engineer.

CCNA Security v.3 (Cisco Certified Network Associate Security)

The CISCO Certified Network Associate Certification in Security is presented by Cisco Learning Partners specifically designed for end users and Channel Partner customers and employees.  The course lays emphasis on security principles and technologies, with the use of Cisco security products thereby providing hands-on experience. This course allows learners to understand common security concepts, and deploy basic security techniques utilizing a variety of popular security appliances within a “real-life” network infrastructure, using instructor-led discussions, extensive hands-on lab exercises, and supplemental materials.

This course covers course introduction, Network Security Concepts, Secure Network Devices, Firewalls, Virtual Private Networks and other Advanced Topics.

On the successful completion of this course the students will have the knowledge and skills to secure routing and switching infrastructure and describe common network security concepts. They will be able to deploy basic authentication, authorization and accounting services, basic firewalling services and also basic site-to-site and remote access VPN services. They will be able to describe the use of more advanced security services such as intrusion protection, content security and identity management.

Skills and knowledge equivalent to those learned in Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (ICND1) along with working knowledge of the Windows operating system and Cisco IOS networking and concepts
