CCNA v2, the rebooted version of R&S, has been streamlined to include the broader aspects of routing and switching. The latest concepts like IPv6, Ether Channel, DHCP, autonomus labs etc have been integrated into the curriculum. Cisco has revamped and renamed this foundational course into a track specific certification program much like its equivalents in Wireless, Security or Datacenter.
CCNA R&S, is the basic level of the Cisco certification program, which validates the competence of network professionals in Routing, Switching and Connectivity. This program provides the foundational knowledge in networking hardware cores like TCP/IP protocols, Routers, Switches, LAN, WAN, etc, enabling you to install, configure, operate, troubleshoot, maintain and manage IP and non IP networks.
There are no specific pre-requisites for the CCNA R&S program, however it would be an added advantage to have a general technical know-how, especially for those from non-technical background.
MODES OF TRAINING
Regular batches, Online training, Bootcamps/FastTrack
COURSE DURATION: 60 Hrs
EXAM : 200-120
The new CCNA R&S can be taken in one, single exam – The CCNA Composite. It is a 90 min, multi-answer, multiple choice exam including lab simulations. The pass mark for the exam is 82.5%.
You may take it as two as individual papers as well:
Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 1 (ICND1 – exam code: 100-101)
Interconnecting Cisco Networking Devices Part 2 (ICND2 – exam code 200-101)
Note: As in all CISCO exams you cannot review (return to) any questions; Hence it would benefit to be well-prepared with a deep subject knowledge of networking before taking up the exam.
The CCNA R&S certification is valid for three years.
